During my stay in Cape Town I was able to meet up with Dr. Dieter Oschadleus to band some birds. Dieter leads the bird banding (ringing) expeditions for the Biodiversity & Development Institute (BDI) in South Africa. Having been the Bird Ringing Coordinator for SAFRING for nearly 20 years, being able to share in his knowledge of South African birds and their molt patterns was an absolute privilege.
